LLANIDLOES BOWLING CLUB

Caroline Jones ( The Welsh Years )

The first mention of Caroline Jones can be found in the membership register from 1985. this may not have been the beginning of Carolin's time at Llanidloes but the records don't show anything earlier. If 1985 was her first year at ther club she certainly got off to a good start. Featuring in two of the inhouse competitions. Caroline was the Runner up in the Bennet Owen Cup partnered with D Owen. The cup was won buy G Sill partnered by Mrs G Jones. In the 1985 Ladies Cup Final Caroline was Triumphant against Mrs M Williams. In the season long Hooson Trophy Caroline was to be victorious and in 1989 Caroline was to be runner up to Liz Harrison in the Final of the Ladies Cup and would go on to take the Hooson Trophy for the second time.

No change as we go into the 1990's only this time it was on the County stage as Caroline, partnered with D.Owen, took the Mid Wales Womens Bowling association Pairs title. Ther was more to come:

The year 2000 brought the Mid Wales Womens Bowling Association's Rinks trophy and in 2011 the 2 wood triples runner up title. In 2011 Caroline became President of the Mid Wales Womens Bowling Association and in 2020 Caroline was made a Vice President of the Welsn Womens Bowling Association. A great honour for both Caroline and the Llanidloes Bowling Club.

The highlights of Caroline's bowling life were undoubtidly her Welsh International appearances. The British Isles and International Series consists of England Ireland, Scotland, Jersey and Wales and takes place yearly.
